This paper discussed tertiary institutions and peacebuilding in Nigeria. The study is a review study that depends on secondary data. The secondary data were collected from print and online publications. The paper concluded that the roles of tertiary institutions in peacebuilding in Nigeria include; the development of academic programmes to produce professionals in peacebuilding, teaching peacebuilding in GST programmes to inculcate in graduates peacebuilding skills and management, research on peacebuilding mechanisms, ensuring the provision of community services that are peacebuilding based in every part of Nigeria where tertiary institutions are located, and enhancement of socio-economic development. The paper recommended that the federal and state governments of Nigeria should ensure that managers (Vice Chancellors, Rectors and Provosts) of tertiary institutions in Nigeria possess integrity as a qualification for their appointment. The suggested recommendation will enable managers of tertiary institutions in Nigeria to lead their tertiary institutions in performing their expected roles with integrity and diligence thereby enhancing peacebuilding in their respective tertiary institutions and Nigeria as a whole.
